    About Serie A.

Serie A is Italy's premier professional football league, renowned for its rich history, tactical discipline, and passionate fanbase. Inter Milan are the current title holders of the 2024-25 season, while Juventus holds the record for the most titles with 36 championships.

    The League Explained

Format: The league features 20 clubs competing in a double round-robin format, with each team playing every other team twice (once at home, once away) for a total of 38 matches per season.

Season: The season typically runs from August to May.

Points: Teams earn 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and no points for a loss.

European Qualification: The top four teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the fifth-placed team enters the Europa League, and the sixth-placed team goes to the Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Relegation: The bottom three teams at the end of the season are relegated to Serie B, replaced by promoted teams from that league.

    Key Teams and Rivalries

Serie A is home to several historic and successful clubs, often referred to as the "seven sisters".

Juventus: The most decorated club in Italy with 36 Serie A titles.

AC Milan & Inter Milan: The two Milan clubs share the iconic San Siro stadium and have a fierce rivalry known as the Derby della Madonnina. Inter is the current champion, having won their 20th title.

Other Notable Clubs: Includes AS Roma, Napoli (2022-23 champions), Lazio, and Fiorentina.
